11th MCC Cowdrey Lecture at Lord's

  1. Awesome speech. Probably the best speech ever by a playing cricketer if not by any cricketer in the history of cricket and probably will be for a long time to come. what a gutsy cricketer he is to call a spade a spade while still playing. Hats off to him. We are proud of the way he conducted himself in the field and off the field. We Sri Lankans are proud of you Kumar for standing up-to what is right. He made the Sinhala saying 'Kate Masuran Danna Watinawa' true when he delivered his speech.

  2. Fortunate to know that still there are couple of people at the top level who would 'risk' speaking up (speaking up is a risky business in Sri Lanka)just for the sake of the country. But will others especially the ordinary people speak up and defend what he did when "deshapremis" (so called nationalist) get down to the job of systematically taking him apart.

  4. I dont approve Sanga's speech b'se It's a direct attack on our Presidents efforts to take back Sri Lanka to the right track. Shame on u Sanga( This is all b'se he lost his captaincy due to poor performance in WC)

  5. I don't know about our presidents efforts to take SL to right track but his son is the main culprit in staggering overspending of the Suriyawewa Stadium which is now being investigated by COPE the parliamentary committee. Corruption at Stadiums are one of the main reasons for the mess the Sri Lanka Cricket is in with Billions of debt. That is exactly what Sanga was speaking about. Bringing our team to two consecutive world cup finals speak volumes of the players commitment including Sanga when corruption was rampant in SLC. So much for the right track.

  6. I am in agreement with the comment about bringing SL back in to right track. But unfortunately we are on the wrong train I think. With the type work ethics and the rampant corruption we have I think SL is a runaway train.
